Euro 2012
Michel Platini, UEFA president plans to visit Poland and the Ukraine on April 15th to ensure that the countries are rapidly progressing to be ready for Euro 2012.

Officials will meet to discuss how the tournament will be held and also the progression of the stadiums, airports and accommodation all needed to hold the event in 3 years time.

Questions have been raised recently whether or not Poland and the Ukraine would be ready to host the Euro Championships due to lack of funds arising from the global economic crisis. Both countries have said they will be ready.

Despite the economic gloom UEFA are expecting around 35% increase in the three years running up to Euro 2012 - mostly coming from the Champions League.
