Ukraine can provide for four Euro 2012 venues

President Victor Yushchenko has issued a statement saying that Ukraine will be providing for all four venues ear marked for Euro 2012 despite dire financial problems hitting many countries in Europe.
The statement was brought on by a report in a Polish newspaper that they were taking over a bigger share of the competition from Ukraine reducing Ukraine's share to two stadiums whilst Poland would host six. Yushchenko has heavily denied this.
Two of the four stadiums in the Ukraine are on schedule for completion, however work in Kiev only began in January and another two are yet to begin.
If the time comes where Michel Platini of UEFA deems it necessary to hand over the two extra host stadiums to Poland, Poland would be ready to take on the extra responsibility. |
