Warsaw set for Euro 2012 final, Ukraine still in trouble

UEFA has announced that the Euro 2012 International Broadcasting Centre will be based in Kiev. Where the centre is usually based indicated where the final match will be held.

No comments have come from UEFA as to whether this is the protocol they go by and that Warsaw will be the location of the final. It is seen that Ukraine’s involvement in the tournament is been minimised as much as possible and there may still be the decision to give the tournament solely to Poland if they can cope.

Back in May UEFA spent some time checking the progression of preparation in Ukraine and soon after refused to confirm any of the host cities in the struggling country and gave them until December 2009 to get the venues up to scratch.

Ukraine has slipped further between recently after President Yushchenko stopped budget amendments to provide $1 billion to the preparations team.
